Chromebook Deployment RFP Award
District-Wide Chromebook Deployment and White Glove Services
Supporting Student Learning Through Large-Scale Device Deployment
Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) issued Solicitation #GDA-320-25 seeking Chromebook devices, management licensing, protective cases, and deployment services to support students across approximately 200 schools and offices throughout the district. Data Networks was selected as an awarded contractor through the competitive procurement process to provide student Chromebook devices and comprehensive deployment services that would streamline logistics, reduce administrative burden, and ensure devices arrived classroom-ready.
As one of the largest school districts in Maryland, BCPS required a scalable solution capable of supporting district-wide device refresh initiatives while minimizing the workload placed on school-based technology staff. The district needed not only reliable Chromebook hardware but also a deployment process that ensured every device was fully configured, asset tagged, enrolled, protected, and ready for immediate student use upon delivery.
Delivering End-to-End Chromebook Deployment Services
To meet BCPS’ requirements, Data Networks proposed the Dell Chromebook 3120 Touch as the student device platform, along with Chrome OS Management Licenses and Gumdrop DropTech protective cases. The solution was designed to provide durable, secure, and easily managed devices capable of supporting modern digital learning environments.

A critical component of the engagement was the delivery of comprehensive Chromebook deployment services. Data Networks performed device staging activities that included verification of all received equipment, validation of serial numbers, inspection for shipping damage, operating system updates, and enrollment into the BCPS Google Workspace environment.
Each Chromebook was asset tagged according to district specifications and documented within an electronic inventory system to support lifecycle management and accountability. Data Networks also installed protective cases on every device prior to shipment, ensuring devices arrived fully prepared for student use.

Additionally, Dell Technologies Professional Learning Credits were included as part of the solution, providing BCPS with access to valuable training resources to support ongoing technology adoption and instructional effectiveness.
Simplifying Logistics and Accelerating Classroom Readiness
Beyond device preparation, Data Networks managed the complex logistics associated with delivering Chromebooks to numerous locations across Baltimore County. Devices were shipped directly to schools and district facilities in organized packaging configurations designed to simplify distribution and deployment.

The Chromebook deployment services model eliminated the need for schools to perform manual enrollment, operating system updates, asset tagging, or packaging disposal. Devices arrived fully configured, inventoried, enrolled, and ready for deployment to students, allowing educators and technology teams to focus on instruction rather than device preparation.
Through this awarded BCPS contract, Data Networks delivered a scalable student computing solution that combined high-quality Chromebook hardware, centralized management capabilities, white-glove deployment services, and streamlined logistics. The project helped ensure students received secure, modern learning devices while reducing administrative overhead and supporting the district’s long-term educational technology strategy.
