Data Networks Welcomes Matt Schuman as Director of Enterprise Service Delivery

In this leadership role, Matt will oversee the delivery of enterprise IT services, drive operational excellence, and ensure clients continue to receive exceptional technical expertise and customer-focused support.

Matt brings more than two decades of experience leading enterprise IT operations, managing high-performing technical teams, and delivering strategic technology initiatives across both the public and private sectors. His extensive background spans managed services, cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure, and service delivery, making him a valuable addition to Data Networks’ leadership team.

Most recently, Matt served as Director of Operations for a managed services provider, where he directed IT operations for more than 65 client organizations while leading a team of engineers responsible for service delivery, infrastructure management, and strategic technology planning. During his tenure, he significantly improved service-level performance and customer satisfaction by implementing operational improvements, process automation, and proactive service management initiatives. His leadership also helped strengthen client relationships while driving measurable gains in operational efficiency and long-term service quality.

Prior to his managed services leadership role, Matt spent several years with the Department of Homeland Security, where he led cross-functional teams responsible for enterprise security operations, user and entity behavior monitoring (UEBA), insider threat initiatives, and enterprise solution delivery supporting more than 155,000 endpoints. Throughout his federal career, he successfully managed large technical teams, improved security operations, negotiated significant contract cost savings, and developed standardized operational processes that enhanced both efficiency and organizational security.

Earlier in his career, Matt held cybersecurity leadership positions with CACI and Tanager, Inc., where he specialized in cyber intelligence, security operations, incident investigations, and enterprise cybersecurity strategy. His technical foundation began in network and systems administration, providing him with a well-rounded perspective that spans every layer of modern IT operations— from infrastructure and networking to cybersecurity, service management, and executive leadership.

In addition to his civilian career, Matt proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 after more than two decades of service. During his military career, he led counterintelligence operations, managed mission-critical teams, and supported national security initiatives both domestically and overseas. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Commerce from Dakota State University, with minors in Networking, Computer Networking Security, and Computer Information Systems.
