E-Rate Aruba Networking and APC UPS Solutions for K-12 Infrastructure Modernization

In February, the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS) selected Data Networks as an awarded contractor under its Network Infrastructure Equipment Invitation for Bid (IFB #034.26.B6), establishing a multi-year E-Rate program contract for enterprise networking and power infrastructure solutions. As an approved E-Rate vendor, Data Networks will provide Aruba Networking products, APC UPS systems, and related professional services to support secure, scalable, and resilient technology operations across the district’s schools and administrative facilities.

Serving approximately 58,000 students and 9,000 employees across 78 schools, HCPSS requires dependable network infrastructure capable of supporting modern digital learning initiatives, wireless connectivity, and mission-critical communications. Through this E-Rate program contract, Data Networks will help the district streamline the acquisition of eligible network infrastructure equipment while maximizing the value of E-Rate funding opportunities.

Supporting E-Rate Eligible K-12 Network Infrastructure Initiatives

HCPSS sought qualified contractors capable of delivering E-Rate eligible network infrastructure equipment, wireless networking technologies, UPS systems, and associated services under a long-term contract vehicle. Data Networks was selected based on its experience supporting large-scale K-12 technology environments and its ability to provide enterprise-grade Aruba Networking and APC solutions aligned with federal E-Rate program requirements.

Under the contract, Data Networks will provide Aruba Networking products including wireless access points, network hardware, software, licensing, and related infrastructure components designed to enhance network performance, scalability, and operational reliability. The engagement also includes APC UPS devices and backup power systems that help protect critical infrastructure from power interruptions and downtime.

As an experienced E-Rate vendor, Data Networks will support procurement processes that align with Schools and Libraries Program requirements, including E-Rate eligible equipment identification, documentation support, and compliance with applicable federal funding guidelines.

Delivering Aruba Networking and APC Solutions with Professional Services

In addition to supplying Aruba and APC technologies, Data Networks will provide networking services supporting implementation, deployment coordination, equipment staging, warranty management, and ongoing technical expertise throughout the duration of the contract. These services help HCPSS maintain efficient procurement workflows while ensuring network and power infrastructure deployments are completed effectively and with minimal disruption.

Data Networks’ engineering and services teams may assist with wireless networking deployments, network infrastructure upgrades, UPS installation support, lifecycle planning, and manufacturer support coordination. Aruba Networking solutions will enable HCPSS to continue expanding high-performance wireless and wired connectivity across classrooms and campus environments, while APC UPS systems provide critical backup power protection for network infrastructure.
