Juniper Network Standardization Following Multi-Site Business Acquisition
Enterprise Network Modernization and Centralized Management Across Three Regional Offices
Standardizing Network Infrastructure After Business Expansion
Following the acquisition of a regional roofing company, this roofing and restoration company faced the challenge of integrating multiple office locations into a unified enterprise network architecture. The acquired roofing company operated offices in Charlotte, Charleston, and Greenville using a mix of aging firewalls, edge routers, unmanaged switching, and standalone wireless infrastructure that did not align with the parent company’s established Juniper Networks standards.
This fragmented environment created operational inefficiencies and limited the company’s ability to centrally manage, monitor, and secure network resources. Existing hardware lacked compatibility with the Juniper Mist cloud management platform, preventing unified visibility across locations and increasing the administrative burden associated with supporting multiple sites. Additionally, unmanaged switching and non-standard network equipment restricted scalability and made it difficult to maintain consistent security policies and user experiences.
To address these challenges, the roofing company partnered with Data Networks to execute a comprehensive network standardization initiative designed to modernize infrastructure, improve operational consistency, and integrate all locations into a centrally managed enterprise network environment.
Deploying a Unified Juniper Networks Solution Across Three Locations
Data Networks developed a strategic network design that aligned each location with the parent company’s enterprise networking framework. The project included detailed planning for network topology, VLAN segmentation, IP addressing, wireless networking, security services, and cloud-based management.

The solution centered on the deployment of Juniper SRX320 next-generation firewalls at each office location. These firewalls provided advanced security services, secure VPN connectivity, and centralized policy management. Data Networks also replaced legacy and unmanaged switching infrastructure with Juniper EX4000 Series PoE switches, including an EX4000-24P switch in Charlotte and EX4000-12P switches in Charleston and Greenville.

Wireless connectivity was modernized through the deployment of Juniper Mist AP32 Wi-Fi 6 access points. Data Networks configured secure corporate and guest wireless networks, implemented voice VLAN support, and optimized network segmentation to improve both performance and security.

A key component of the network standardization project was the integration of all firewalls, switches, and wireless access points into the Juniper Mist cloud platform. Through Juniper Mist, Data Networks enabled centralized monitoring, configuration management, troubleshooting, and reporting across all three locations from a single management interface.
Delivering Centralized Visibility, Security, and Scalability
The completed network standardization initiative successfully transformed three independent office networks into a cohesive extension of the parent company’s enterprise infrastructure. By replacing outdated routers, unmanaged switches, and legacy wireless equipment with a modern Juniper architecture, the company achieved greater operational consistency, improved network security, and enhanced performance across all sites.

The Juniper Mist platform now provides centralized visibility and management of network infrastructure throughout the company, significantly reducing administrative overhead while improving troubleshooting and support capabilities. Standardized configurations and cloud-managed services enable more efficient operations and simplify future growth initiatives.
In addition to modernizing network connectivity, the project established a scalable foundation for future expansion, acquisitions, and technology initiatives. Ongoing monitoring, management, and support are provided through Data Networks’ Managed IT Services program, ensuring the roofing company continues to benefit from a secure, reliable, and centrally managed networking environment.
